Gameplay Footage!

  • Purpose: Senior Capstone
  • Time it took to make: Two Semesters (Eight Months)
  • Team size: 25

As the Creative Director for this project during the entirety of its development, I had multiple responsibilities and gained experience in many areas.

Level Design:

  • Oversaw the creation of each of the five levels.
  • Established core guidelines for all levels
  • Established theme of each individual level
  • Brainstormed wide variety of interactions in all levels, and multiple rounds of both paper-prototype and in-engine feedback on the levels.

Systems/Mechanical Design:

  • Created multiple high-level flowcharts to document the purposes and capabilities of each unique “possessable” that the player can interact with in the game.
  • Balanced a lot of variables in-engine
  • Kept Game Design Document up-to-date
  • Managed designers’ pull requests on GitHub

Narrative Design:

  • Created all of the main story beats
  • Hosted dedicated narrative sessions to create the full game script
  • Selected and directed voice actors, as well as directed numerous voice acting sessions over the course of multiple weeks
  • Timed and implemented all of the dialogue into all of the levels to play at their appointed times

Leadership/Production:

  • Worked closely with the producer
  • Created in-depth roadmaps and Jira tickets that properly documented all 25 team members’ tasks for each sprint and milestone.
  • Prepared weekly 10-15 minute presentations to keep the team on the same page and ensure that everyone was aware of their tasks and the overall progress we were making towards our milestones

If you have any questions about anything else this project entailed, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me! This game was so much fun to make!
